It was cold, very cold. I realised that normally when I walked somewhere I would be thinking about all sorts of things, my body language, what I was wearing, what was happening around me, who was around me, whether girls were giving RAS etc….
What I Realised:
I thought ‘this is all so much bullshit, WTF am I worrying about this stuff?!’ I have a goal, and that goal (at the time) was just to get home, into the warmth and out of this cold weather.
Staying true to this goal, I ignored everything else and, you know what, I felt so much better for doing so.
I felt really at ease, with EVERYTHING. And far from being less aware, by consciously relaxing I found that all my senses were heightened.
To this I added my RN insight:
Leadership training made me realise: I could be a leader. It made me feel like I was someone who could lead men and also someone who they would follow – an important thought. People will respect me and accept my authority
These two thought patterns combined and my confidence skyrocketed. This experience made me feel truly great.
Two particular profound thoughts:
- I really feel as if I am starting to fall in love with MYSELF as a person. An important thing and on that I think is really the true basis of inner strength and being a truly strong male. I’ve been through a lot with myself, and my body mind and spirit have seen everything. They know everything I wish to do, and all I’ve been through. They are my greatest friend. I intend to embrace and love myself, and to make this a habit until it is something I feel wholly and truly.
- I’m starting to see things and in particular people, less in terms of game, and more organically. I’ve realised that I have been treating everything in the context of ‘game’ and analysing – probably far too much – every situation that I come across. I believe game training is important if certain skills don’t come naturally to you, but there comes a point where you just have to relax, and stop the analysing.
I have to realise that I am a great, strong attractive person, and that I won’t lose out by ‘turning it off’ and will most likely connect to people to a greater extent, and be all the better for it.
This is an image of how I am doing because I put myself down like a dog (don’t feel like there is support in certain things I do); but I bring more old articles (some cool) to share (next week Metroid animated Comic Book).
First on the list of agenda, there has been a contest on The MMN for who could recreate a better voice-over of one the scenes in Megaman X4 (when Zero sees Iris dying), even the new voice actor from Maverick Hunter (PSP) is participating; you can make it fun or irrelevant but needs to stick to that certain scene (“WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR?!?!?!?!”)
Second is a little gadget I’ve seen over the internet for sometime (in certain sites, not all); you know how Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid) is very popular in Japan and constantly new fan-made songs are created; well this gadget is a type of clock where it will sing a melody if you click on the music note or tell you the time in Japanese if you click on Miku; nifty little creative thing, and at Gunota.info it explains how to install your very own Miku Clock on you blog or page.
Third is something that I’ve found when surfing the waters ANN (Anime News Network), clicking on the article that said “Funimation releases a short teaser of Soul Eater English DUB Version” with a video; I went to their blog and listen to how the DUB sounded, similar to the original but have adapted to the Japanese voice cast (sounds more natural, but able to adapt). There is a lot of information on ongoing shows questionnaires and etc. and one request that a lot of people want (support it) is for them or someone to pick up the rights to “Cardcaptor Sakura” and re-dub it so it doesn’t sound like “Cardcaptors” (making Sharon the lead character of the series contradicts the hard work Sakura is trying to do, NO GO!) and “Cardcaptor Sakura The Movie (first movie, not the second one as they corrected their mistakes on making Sharon the lead character in the second, but the first suck as they alternate so many things, you need to watch it so you could understand).
Fourth is an expectation from Capcom, and yes “IT’S NOT OVER YET!” As we know, Capcom try to release Tatsunoko VS Capcom over to the States, Europe, and international, but they struggle getting the copyrights to all the characters from the Tatsunoko side (rumor is that the Genie didn’t board the international ship, meaning Capcom couldn’t get the rights for him) and may leave some characters out of the big picture, but Capcom is able to get others to replace those that couldn’t be here right? Only time will tell and I’ll give you the link to check it out for yourself.

Fifth is also something I found while surfing the net, apparently I stumble in a blog where they had a breakdown explaining each part in the Naruto chapter (reference to Star Wars); plus the whole blog looks cool, would check it out.
Sixth made controversy, back when the PS3 still suck on some aspects (price and so on) some publishers were complaining that it costed them more to have their game in the PSN system and not enough funds to refurbish the creators of the game; then this lead to another recent rumored article that the Sony is releasing a model with premium services (basically XBOX Live paid subscriptions) but still having the free internet, and play service on their consoles (just odd).
Seventh is making screams across the net. You know that Sony released the PSP GO, which is “Download Digital-only”, well apparently Logitech is making a device that is able to play UMD disk on the Go.
WAIT!?!?! IF THE PURPOSE OF CREATING THE GO WAS FOR IT TO BE DOWNLOAD-ONLY (iPOD TOUCH CONCEPT OF COMPETITION AND SEXYNESS), THE WHY BUY A ADD-ON TO PLAY UMD DISKS, THIS MAKES THE DEVICE MORE BULKY, HEAVY, AND UNFITABLE FOR YOUR POCKET AND EXPENSIVE.
If your going to buy a PSP and want the disk, the better option is the 3000-version (disk-based).
Eighth is kicking butt of the shelfs, Sony and Nintendo reporting that the Thanksgiving sales were going great, specially for Sony; selling more than in October or last year, while Nintendo reports that it had some the same luck but not selling many than October times. And Microsoft still needs to give out its number of consoles sold (as it only informs that they sold 2X the number from last year) and no trap doors will fool us in your console.
Ninth gives a big Kudos to Kojima-san and the whole team of producer as they have announce a release date for METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER, COMING SPRING 2009 (MAY 25) and it shall be deserving and tasteful to play Solid on the PSP. Looking forward to this (just hope my budget will support it)
Tenth goes into the ongoing saga of the Duke Nukem series, a rumor has started to circulate that a game called Duke Nukem D-Day is in the production, having aspects of the “Forever” game, meaning screen shots and video looks similar and may be the game everybody has been waiting for, just having a named changed.
I picked a fight this morning, because Katie was undercutting me with the oldest boy.
Katie was still in bed, nursing the youngest boy; Dev and I were in the master bathroom. He wants to know how to read and write, but he’s not so interested in actually doing the learning. He knows his letters and can sound out words when he applies himself, so I suggested getting a favorite book and copying out the words verbatim. Dev wasn’t really listening (a trait he gets from his mother), and so the expression of my idea became less of a sentence and more of a comic conversation.
Throughout all this, Katie kept interrupting. It bothered her whenever I stated or implied that Dev can’t read or write yet, so she struck sneaky blows in his defense by interjecting veiled corrections of what I was saying. You know how they do. I appreciate that she doesn’t want him to feel bad, and she is completely welcome to use her feminine sneak attacks on his behalf against other females. But not against me or any of my sons.
About the fourth time she corrected me, it made me angry enough to realize what was going on. She was still laying on her side, facing away from us, and I had just sat down against her legs. I brought my hand down hard on her hip, not a smack, but as if I were steadying something on a storm-tossed ship. Firmly holding her hip, I said, “Do. Not. Do. That. Stop criticizing and correcting what I say.”
“That’s not what–I only wanted–I was trying to add to the discussion.”
“What you did instead was subtract from it.” I paused a moment, then said, “Dev, think about a short book you like. Maybe one of the library books. What would it look like if you were copying the words from it?” Dev looked thoughtful, then scampered off to the living room.
Katie waited until he was gone, then said in a shaky voice, “I truly was not doing what you said. I was just trying to be part of the conversation and–”
I cut her off: “No. You are rewriting your personal history now.” Walked away.
Katie closed the bedroom door at some point after that, but I’m not really sure when, so I know she didn’t slam it. That was the first good sign. The ambulatory children and I had a few of our usual adventures and disputes over the next half hour, and then Katie came out quietly. I can’t see the bedroom from the kitchen, but I could hear her walking softly over. When I turned around, she looked at me seriously and made the Want a Kiss body language. I took a step closer, but made her go up on tiptoes to kiss me.
After the kiss, she met my eyes and in a soft, but determined voice said, “You were right, and I was wrong.”
I leaned back and studied her face for a moment. Then I gave her another kiss and said, “You’re pretty.”

Leftunder Books has begun work on an open-source role-playing game:
Creatheater is intended as the first step in developing an original fantasy role-playing game. This game takes its inspiration from the RPGs of the late 1970s and ’80s, mythology in all its forms, literature, comic books, horror, and fantasy illustration. The game concept and mechanics are being initially developed by Charles Dickey, although collaboration with other designers is sought. Creatheater is intended to be a unique system with emphasis on character development and player character-driven stories, and is offered as a departure from the combat-heavy miniatures-style game systems that seem to have come to dominate RPGs in the past decade.
This project will be updated frequently as development continues.
